1. Information We Collect

The App collects the following types of information:

• Microphone Audio: When you start a live interpretation session, the App captures audio from your microphone or system audio input. This audio is streamed directly to OpenAI's Realtime API for processing and is not stored by the App or on our servers.
• Transcripts: The recognized source text and translated text are stored locally on your device. You can view, export, and delete these records at any time.
• Purchase Information: In-app purchase and subscription transactions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect or store your payment details.
• API Keys: If you choose to use your own OpenAI API key, it is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personally identifiable information through the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information collected is used solely for:

• Providing real-time speech recognition and translation services
• Storing your interpretation history locally for later review
• Managing your purchased minute credits and subscription status
• Improving app stability and performance through anonymized crash reports (only if enabled at the system level)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

The App shares data with third parties only as necessary to provide its core functionality:

• OpenAI: Microphone audio, generated transcripts, and the selected target language are sent to OpenAI's Realtime API to provide translation. OpenAI processes this data according to its own privacy policy and API data usage policies.
• Apple: Purchase transactions are processed by Apple. Apple's privacy policy governs how your purchase information is handled.
• Developer Credential Service: If you use App Credits, a request is sent to the developer's backend (https://caolonghua.com.cn/api/realtime-credential) to obtain a short-lived API credential. This request does not include audio or transcript data.

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services within the App.

4. Data Retention & Security

Audio data is streamed in real-time and is not retained after the interpretation session ends. Transcripts are stored locally on your device and persist until you delete them. No transcript data is transmitted to our servers.

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect data in transit, including TLS encryption for all network communications. Local data on your device is protected by the security features of your operating system.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access & Portability: View all stored transcripts and export them as DOCX files at any time.
• Deletion: Delete individual interpretation records or all data from within the App.
• Consent Withdrawal: Stop using the App at any time. The AI data processing consent prompt appears before each new session.
• Complaint: Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

For users in the EU (GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), China (PIPL), and Brazil (LGPD), additional rights may apply as provided by applicable law. Since all user data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data at all times.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

7. International Data Transfers

When you use the live interpretation feature, audio data is transmitted to OpenAI's servers, which may be located outside your country of residence. By using this feature, you consent to the transfer of your audio data to these servers.

We ensure that any such transfers are conducted with appropriate safeguards, including encryption in transit, in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the updated policy within the App and on this page. The Effective Date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.

Continued use of the App after changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
